I am a single working mum, I work Sunday each week not because I want to work weekends but it’s the only day I get penalty rates to help us survive. Losing penalty rates to me means the difference between being able to survive financially. That $60 extra I earn goes a long way, it may not seem much to you but for me that is a huge difference. I am sure there are a lot of others out there in a similar situation to me so please do not cut penalty rates and cause more hardship to those already struggling to survive each week.
